The Search Analytics feature allows Teacher-Authors with a Premium Seller membership to see which search keywords are leading Buyers to the products in their store. This unique keyword data is specific to each Teacher-Author.
The first thing that you’ll see when you open Search Analytics is a bubble chart showing the top 5 search keywords that led to visits to your TPT store in the last 30 days. If you have 4 or fewer keywords with visits, the bubble chart will be hidden. Because the percentage associated with these top 5 keywords is dynamic, it is normal for this percentage to change from day to day based on Buyer search behavior. Customizing the date range using the date selector will not alter the results depicted in the bubble chart, as it is fixed to always display results for the last 30 days.
So what counts as a search keyword visit? The following conditions must be met in order for a Buyer’s actions to be counted as a search keyword visit:
- Buyer searches for a keyword, such as “math worksheets,” in the TPT search bar
- Buyer then clicks on one of your resources and navigates directly to the product page
Note: A search keyword visit will not be counted if a Buyer performs a search on TPT and visits your store page instead of a product page. Product page visits that were the result of activity outside of searching directly on TPT will not count as search keyword results either.
By default, the Search Analytics table displays results for your entire store, but if you’d like to see search keyword data for a single product, you can do so using the product selector dropdown. Simply select the product that you’d like to view the data for, adjust the date range if desired, and click “Save” to load the results. Only one product can be selected at a time.
You can view Search Analytics data going back as far as January 1, 2025.
Understanding the Search Analytics metrics:
Visits - Buyer searches for a keyword in the TPT search bar and then clicks on one of your resources (See additional details about keyword visits above).
Conversions - A conversion occurs when a Buyer searches for a keyword, clicks on your product, and purchases that product within 24 hours.
Earnings - A purchase is counted toward keyword earnings when a Buyer purchases the product within the 24-hour window after the search keyword visit.
Resources - The resources metric shows the number of your products that Buyers clicked on after searching for the selected keyword. It does not show how many of your products contain that keyword.
Please keep in mind that the Search Analytics feature does not cover impressions or ranking data. For example, data showing how high your product ranks for certain keywords or how often your products appear in search results without a click are not reflected in your store’s search analytics results.
Search Analytics is a powerful tool providing keyword-level insights that make it easier for TPT Teacher-Authors to identify trends and to understand what Buyers are actually searching for. Having access to this data helps Teacher-Authors better understand Buyer behavior and make more informed decisions for their businesses to optimize their stores for growth.
