Many Sellers on TPT create custom fonts that you can purchase or download for free. Some Sellers also create resources that may require you to download and install these fonts to properly use with that specific resource. You can install a font you downloaded from TPT by opening the downloaded font file and installing it on your device.
Font files can come in various file types. The most common font file types include:
- TTF
- OTF
- FNT
Installing a font can vary on different types of operating systems (Mac, Windows 10, Windows 8, etc.). For more information on how to install a font on your operating system, please refer to the instructions below:
Mac:
- After downloading the font from TPT, double-click on the file. If the fonts are contained within a ZIP file, you’ll need to extract them first. This FAQ will walk you through opening a ZIP file.
- You should then see a pop-up in your computer’s font book. Click “Install font” and you’re all set!
- If you’re trying to use this newly installed font in a program like Microsoft Word, be sure to restart those programs before you’ll see the font appear as an option.

Windows:
- After downloading the font from TPT, you’ll want to open the file with Windows File Explorer.
- Next, either double-click on the file or right-click and select “Install.” You’re all set!
