If you are a new Seller or an existing Basic Seller, here is where you can find answers to commonly asked questions about TPT’s Exclusive Seller membership. If you are an existing Premium Seller, please visit this FAQ instead.
What is an Exclusive Seller membership?
Beginning October 1, 2026, TPT is discontinuing the Premium Seller membership and replacing it with the Exclusive Seller membership. If you choose to be an Exclusive Seller, you agree to sell digital educational resources exclusively on TPT.
This membership is designed for Sellers who want to reach more customers and level up their business by making TPT their exclusive platform for selling their resources.
As an Exclusive Seller, you’ll enjoy premium benefits that can help you grow your business:
- Earn more from what you create:
- A preferred payout rate of 77.5% (compared to 55% for Basic Sellers)
- No transaction fees on orders over $3.00 and a small transaction fee of $0.15 per resource on orders under $3.00 (compared to $0.30 on every resource for Basic Sellers)
- Optimize your products and listings to sell more effectively with advanced insights from Search Analytics and Keyword Finder
- Expand your customer base with premium marketing features, including promotional tools and enhanced marketing data
- Gain additional exposure with the opportunity for your store to be included in TPT-funded marketing campaigns
The Exclusive Seller membership has an annual fee of $59.95 per year and provides the offerings listed above. Joining the membership requires you to commit to selling digital educational resources exclusively on TPT.
If you choose this membership, you’re responsible for following the exclusivity requirements while you participate. If TPT determines that you’re not meeting those requirements, we may take action.
What does it mean to sell exclusively on TPT?
As an Exclusive Seller, you’ll have the flexibility to promote your store and resources. You can also maintain your own website or storefront.
You also agree to sell your digital educational resources exclusively through TPT. This means that while you can use other sites, like a personal website, to highlight and market your resources, the final purchase must be processed through your TPT store. For example, if you have a shop on your website, the “Buy Now” buttons could link to the equivalent product in your TPT store.

If I change my mind, can I opt in to or out of an Exclusive Seller membership at a later date?
If you change your mind after creating a brand new Exclusive Seller account or upgrading from a Basic Seller membership, you can switch to a Basic Seller account. There will be a one-year wait period before you are eligible to sign back up as an Exclusive Seller. Please note that refunds on the annual Exclusive Seller fee will not be provided.
If you are an existing Premium Seller, please see this FAQ for information about opting in or out of an Exclusive Seller membership, as some of the details differ.
When does my Exclusive Seller introductory payout rate end?
Basic Sellers and new-to-TPT Sellers who sign up to be Exclusive Sellers between October 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026, will enjoy an introductory payout rate of 80% until January 1, 2027.
Can I operate two stores, one of which is exclusive and the other isn’t?
No, Sellers who run multiple stores must enroll all stores in either the Basic Seller membership or Exclusive Seller membership.
Can I continue operating my own website and/or store if I’m an Exclusive Seller?
Yes, as long as you send the final purchases to TPT to process, you’re welcome to continue running your personal store or website. For example, your shop’s “Buy Now” buttons could link to the equivalent product in your TPT store.
Are there any products I can sell off of TPT if I’m an Exclusive Seller?
Yes, being an Exclusive Seller means you exclusively sell digital education products through TPT. If you offer physical products, courses/professional development, and other products separate from your digital educational materials and resources, you’re welcome to continue selling those off of TPT. Learn more here.
Exclusive Sellers are also welcome to promote their digital education products on other sites including their personal websites, as long as the final transactions are processed on TPT.
Please note: Exclusive Sellers cannot offer memberships, payment plans, and/or licenses that include access to their digital education products.
Does this change impact Basic Sellers?
No, there are no changes to the Basic Seller membership.
I sell Boom Cards but they are also on the Boom Card website — is that okay as an Exclusive Seller?
Yes, Boom Cards are acceptable to continue selling off of TPT specifically on the Boom Card platform as an Exclusive Seller.
As an Exclusive Seller, may I continue selling subscriptions, memberships, different licenses, or payment plans for digital educational resources off of TPT?
No, as an Exclusive Seller, your digital educational resources must be sold exclusively on TPT. Basic Sellers can continue selling products off of TPT that include digital educational resources. Exclusive Sellers cannot sell memberships, licenses, or other products on their websites or other platforms that include components that could be sold on TPT.
I offer free resources as a lead magnet to join a mailing list that I use to point to TPT. Can I still do that as an Exclusive Seller?
Yes, you’re welcome to offer free resources on and off-platform as an Exclusive Seller. Just note that you cannot charge for a resource on TPT that you offer for free off-platform.
I sell a video course that includes a worksheet — is that okay as an Exclusive Seller?
If the associated resource is directly related to the video and is not a standalone resource, then that is okay. If the associated resource isn’t related to/does not require the video, that resource would need to be sold exclusively through TPT if you’re an Exclusive Seller.
I sell educational workbooks on Amazon or another website — is that okay as an Exclusive Seller?
Yes, the Exclusive Seller membership only requires exclusivity for digital educational resources. You may continue to sell hard-copy educational workbooks on Amazon as an Exclusive Seller.
