If you are currently a Premium Seller on TPT, here is where you can find answers to commonly asked questions about TPT’s Exclusive Seller membership. If you are a brand new Seller or an existing Basic Seller, please visit this FAQ instead.
What does it mean to sell exclusively on TPT?
As an Exclusive Seller, you’ll have the flexibility to promote your store and resources. You can also maintain your own website or storefront.
You also agree to sell your digital educational resources exclusively through TPT. This means that while you can use other sites, like a personal website, to highlight and market your resources, the final purchase must be processed through your TPT store. For example, if you have a shop on your website, the “Buy Now” buttons could link to the equivalent product in your TPT store.

How do I become an Exclusive Seller?
To sign up as an Exclusive Seller, please:
- Visit the new opt-in page under My Account.
- Select the checkbox, “Yes, I want to become an Exclusive Seller.”
- You will be prompted to agree to the terms of the Exclusive Seller membership, including that any digital educational products that can be sold on TPT will be sold exclusively on TPT.
Note: If a Seller breaks the terms of the Exclusive Seller agreement, penalties may apply.
- Your account will reflect your Exclusive Seller rate beginning January 1, 2027.
If you check the box to opt in as an Exclusive Seller before January 1, 2027, your Premium subscription will convert to an Exclusive subscription beginning January 1, 2027. If you change your mind, you can uncheck that box at any time before January 1. Either way, your account will remain a Premium Seller account through December 31, 2026 with a payout rate of 80%. Exclusive Seller status will begin on January 1, 2027 including the updated payout rate of 77.5%.
Do I have to become an Exclusive Seller?
You do not need to become an Exclusive Seller. If you’d like to sell your digital educational resources on other sites, you may have your account converted to a Basic Seller membership starting on January 1, 2027.
How do I opt out of the Exclusive Seller membership?
If you’re a current Premium Seller and would prefer not to sign up as an Exclusive Seller, simply take no action (by leaving the opt-in box unchecked) and your account will be converted to a Basic Seller account on January 1, 2027.
If you have time remaining on your Premium Seller subscription as of January 1, you’ll receive a pro-rated refund on your Premium Seller annual fee equal to $5 per month remaining in your subscription. For example, if your Premium Seller account typically renewed on August 15, we would issue a refund of $40 to account for the 8 remaining months in your Premium subscription. This refund would be included in the payout you receive in January.
Current Basic Sellers don’t need to take any action. However, like Premium Sellers, you have the option to sign up as an Exclusive Seller beginning October 1, 2026 and anytime thereafter. During the transition period (October 1 through December 31, 2026), the Exclusive Seller membership will offer an 80% payout rate. The exclusivity terms will apply immediately upon sign-up. The payout rate will update to 77.5% beginning January 1, 2027.
What if my Premium Seller account is scheduled to renew between now and the end of the year?
Existing Premium Sellers whose accounts auto-renew during this transition period (October 1–December 31) will be renewed as Premium Sellers and continue to receive an 80% payout rate through the end of the year.
If you’d like to move forward as an Exclusive Seller on January 1, 2027, you must sign up by December 31, 2026 or your account will be automatically converted to a Basic Seller account on January 1, 2027. You can upgrade your account to an Exclusive Seller account at any time in the future by visiting the new opt-in page under My Account and selecting the checkbox, “Yes, I want to become an Exclusive Seller.”
If you choose to move forward as a Basic Seller, we will issue you a pro-rated refund on your Premium Seller fee based on the amount of time remaining in your Premium Seller subscription (equal to $5 per month remaining in your subscription year).
When will my Premium Seller payout rate change?
Payout rates will be updated on January 1, 2027. As a Premium Seller, you will maintain your Premium payout rate of 80% until January 1, 2027.
Existing Premium Sellers who sign up to be Exclusive Sellers earlier than December 31, 2026 will remain Premium Sellers until January 1, 2027. Opting in early will not change when your payout rate changes.
What happens if I don’t make a selection by the end of the year?
If you don’t choose to sign up as an Exclusive Seller by the end of 2026, your account will be converted to a Basic Seller account on January 1, 2027.
If there’s time remaining on your Premium Seller subscription, TPT will provide a pro-rated refund on your Premium Seller annual fee. This refund will be equal to $5 per month remaining in your subscription.
You can upgrade to an Exclusive Seller account at any time in the future by signing up from the opt-in page in My Account.
If I sign up to be an Exclusive Seller, when do I need to ensure I’m adhering to the exclusivity terms?
If you are a current Premium Seller and you sign up to be an Exclusive Seller between October 1 and December 31, 2026, please ensure your digital educational resources are sold exclusively on TPT by January 1, 2027.
If you are a current Basic Seller, creating your first TPT Seller account, or signing up after January 1, 2027, your store must adhere to the exclusivity terms upon sign-up.
I just paid my annual Premium Seller fee; can I have a refund?
If there is time remaining on your Premium Seller subscription after January 1, 2027, and your account is converted to a Basic Seller account, TPT will provide a pro-rated refund on your Premium Seller annual fee. This refund will be equal to $5 per month remaining in your subscription.
For example, if your Premium Seller account typically renewed on August 15, we will issue a refund of $40 to account for the 8 remaining months in your Premium subscription. This refund will be included in the payout you receive in January.
Do I have to pay the $29 one-time Basic Seller fee if my Premium Seller account is converted to a Basic Seller account?
No, TPT will waive the $29 Basic Seller fee for Premium Sellers whose accounts are converted to Basic Seller accounts during this transition period.
If a Premium Seller becomes a Basic Seller on January 1, 2027 and there’s time remaining on their Premium Seller subscription, TPT will also provide a pro-rated refund on their Premium Seller annual fee. This refund will be equal to $5 per month remaining in their subscription and will be included in the payout you receive in January.
