We understand that some Teacher-Authors may choose to conduct their business outside of the TPT platform. To further clarify our policies around this, we've provided the following guidelines related to linking to other websites, price consistency, and requesting refunds.
- Don't link to stores outside of TPT or advertise stores outside of TPT from TPT. (Another variation of this: Don't push folks who have come to you through TPT to other places to buy outside of TPT.)
- Keep your prices consistent if you offer your resources on other platforms.
- Don’t request refunds to encourage purchasing from other sites.
Please be sure to also review our Community Guidelines for All TPT'ers and our Seller Guidelines.
Why can't I direct off of TPT to other stores?
Bringing an educator to your store is fantastic. That educator is now where they need to be to look at your amazing resources. Please don't drive them away! Taking someone off of the site and away from your store interrupts the flow and they may not come back. We're spending a great deal of effort on search engine optimization (SEO) to help folks find your store. Please support this effort by not directing off of TPT.
What's the reason for keeping prices consistent if I offer resources somewhere else?
We want educators who use TPT to have a great experience and feel confident that the best price can always be found on TPT. If educators find the same resource offered elsewhere for less, that makes Buyers feel unfairly treated, increases refund requests for your resources, and means more time spent comparing prices and less time spent finding and using great resources.
What's the main takeaway?
With these guidelines we're clarifying what most folks are doing already. We want you to be wildly successful. It gives us great joy to see Teacher-Authors grow and succeed.
